# hold

Retaining / releasing attributes of the plot

### hold('on')

• Set the hold state to on.
• Command syntax, e.g., hold on, is not supported.
• This retains certain attributes of a line / surface plot, so that when the next plot / surf function is executed to show a new plot, the attribute values remain the same. See the table below for a complete list of retainable attributes.

### hold('off')

• Set the hold state to off.
• Command syntax, e.g., hold on, is not supported.
• This releases certain attributes of a line / surface plot, so that when the next plot / surf function is executed to show a new plot, the attribute values are reset to the default values . See the table below for a complete list of retainable attributes and their default values.
